Radio Swiss Classic is one of Switzerland's pioneers in digital radio. Digital radio – also known by the abbreviation DAB+ (digital audio broadcasting) – is transmitted through the air and is set to replace analogue FM reception in the medium term. To receive digital radio programmes such as Radio Swiss Classic, Radio Swiss Pop or Radio Swiss Jazz, a DAB+ device is required. Many models are available to buy in all price ranges.

In Switzerland, between 11 and 47 DAB+ programmes can currently be received, depending on the language region. The programme listing is constantly being expanded with the future of digital radio in mind. Currently, the coverage of digital radio in Switzerland is 99%.
