Keenon Jackson (born March 9, 1990), is an American rapper better known by his stage name YG (short for Young Gangsta). He was signed by Def Jam in 2009[1] and released his first single titled "Toot It and Boot It", featuring Tydolla$ign, which peaked at #67 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 2010.[2] "Bitches Ain't Shit", featuring Tyga and Nipsey Hussle, entered the Hot 100 at #100 and at #11 on the Heatseekers Songs chart.[3] In 2013 he signed to Young Jeezy's CTE World record label.
Music career
After releasing several songs that garnered him a large following on the internet, such as "She A Model" and "Aim Me" he signed to Def Jam.[4] He is working on mixtapes, touring and running his 4Hunnid brand clothing line. .[5] He was also featured in XXL's 2011 Freshmen Class.[6] On March 19, YG released "You Broke" featuring Nipsey Hussle to iTunes.[7] In 2012, he announced his debut album, I'm 4rm Bompton, will be executively produced by rapper Young Jeezy. Later in June 2013 he revealed that Jeezy's record label CTE World would release the album.[8]
