T-Bone Burnett, de son vrai nom Joseph Henri Burnett est un producteur et musicien américain né le 14 janvier 1948 à Saint-Louis au Missouri. Il commence sa carrière musicale à Los Angeles en 1972. Il joue notamment pour Bob Dylan, participant à la Rolling Thunder Revue (1975-1976), et dans The Alpha Band jusqu'en 1979.

Musicien unanimement reconnu par ses pairs, il n'a jamais réussi à percer commercialement. Il a obtenu plus de reconnaissance pour ses talents de producteurs. En dehors de ses propres albums, il a produit notamment Roy Orbison, Bo Deans, Peter Case, Elvis Costello, Los Lobos, Marshall Crenshaw, Gillian Welch, Elton John. Il a aussi produit en 2000 les bandes originales des films O'Brother, en 2003 et Inside Llewyn Davis (E&J Coen) en 2013 celle du film Cold Mountain et en 2010 l'album d'Elton John et Leon Russell The Union. Il a obtenu en 2002 un Grammy Awards en tant que producteur de l'année. Enfin, il produit le nouvel album de Diana Krall paru en 2012, Glad Rag Doll.
